Krisha Heckman artist statement

My work approaches    different  ways on  how  to tackle  buddhist  discussion of  suffering . It  inform on how our   perception and  mental formation  that is that develop  to handle

Society  is  often  negligent or  disastrous    in seeing what the world actually is .  The work   expresses  this sense through  emptiness , or subtle  sense of impermanence  in  its  abstraction,  space, spontaneously .As a  form of speech is  grounded in   styles  and line work  from asian  ink masters  including , Fan Kuan, Tung Hsien , Wang Meng . But,  life is mainly   groundless  and so largely based on my  meditation and samadhi  (concentration ) . My  background is mainly Zen buddhism. So  it directly  focuses on simply investigating  and practicing   than conceptionaly   concept of self . Which is funny.  Art is all about self .

I myself is Kutztown graduate  with a degree in. studio art . I was. born  Allentown and. been living. in Philadelphia. for the past 3 years . i. formal  student  at the Soto Zen center and practice mediation and mindfulness.
